Ferrari Junior Armstrong takes two podiums for Prema Theodore Racing in Italian F4
Round 2 of the 2017 Italian Formula 4 Championship got underway at Adria Raceway with Prema Theodore Racing’s Marcus Armstrong taking two podium finishes meanwhile rookie teammate Enzo Fittipaldi claimed second in the Rookie Championship.
The weekend started in good stead with Ferrari Driver Academy member Marcus Armstrong qualifying on the front row for Race 1 whilst teammate and fellow Ferrari Junior Enzo Fittipaldi qualified in the top 10. With poor weather conditions forcing a safety car start for Race 1, Armstrong drove wisely to finish in P3 ahead of Brazil’s Fittipaldi who narrowly missed out on the top-five with P6 and P2 in the rookie competition.
Race 2 saw Fittipaldi finish P2 in the rookie competition once more with P7 overall meanwhile New Zealand’s Armstrong was forced to retire with car damage.
Sunday’s Race 3 saw a fine return to form for Armstrong as he claimed a second podium finish with P3 whilst rookie Fittipaldi did well to come through the field to take P11 overall and P3 among the rookies.
Armstrong jumps two places in the Championship Standings to P4 ahead of Fittipaldi in P8 who also sits P2 in the Rookie Championship. Prema Theodore Racing sits third in the Team Standings.

“A reasonably good weekend here in Adria. Two podiums and a DNF in Race 2 in which we were fighting for the lead. Ultimately it’s unsatisfying to not be on the top step but we showed the fundamentals of having a championship fight. Thank you to Prema Theodore Racing for a successful weekend.”

“This weekend was decent. Qualifying is critical at Adria because it is a very small track and as well difficult to overtake. We did not have a great qualifying (Q1-P8, Q2-P8, Q3-P11) because I suffered a lot in sector two. In Race 1 it was full rain, it was a good race finishing P6 at the end. Race 2 was damp conditions, during the race we had really good pace setting best lap time by two tenths, I ended up finishing P7. In Race 3 we did not have a great first lap because I got pushed out by another driver in turn one causing me to go all the way back to P19, the whole race I went working my way back up to finish in P11. I am really looking forward for the next round at Vallelunga and hoping to have a great weekend with Prema Theodore Racing!”
