Imola - Race Preview
As all the major national and international championships are finally resuming after their summer breaks, Prema is ready to line-up for the fifth round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship, scheduled on the fascinating ups and downs of Imola.
The Italian squad will be lining-up at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari with three cars including the one driven by series regular and championship leader Marcus Armstrong. The young New Zealander, supported by the Ferrari Driver Academy, has secured one win and one second place in the previous round at Mugello and has a 12-point advantage over his closest contender.
The other Prema full-time runner in the Italian series, Enzo Fittipaldi, will be back battling his way at the top of the rookie category. The Brazilian has two rookie wins to his name so far. Last but not least, Jüri Vips is back in the series for the third run of his part-time program. Despite having the German championship as his primary commitment, the 17-year-old Estonian got one win and two second places in Tuscany. He is currently eighth overall in standings despite having competed in only two rounds in 2017.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal:
“It’s finally time for our Formula 4 operation to go back on-track and it will be at one of the closest venues to our headquarters, Imola. In the previous round of the Italian Championship at Mugello we showed great potential by grabbing two wins and three second places. The major stars on this year’s Formula 4 scene are definitely Marcus and Jüri. The way they are fighting among the frontrunners of both the Italian and the German series is really promising and definitely proves their value. We are confident for Enzo’s performance too as he showed huge consistency and he is now ready to aim for the front end of the overall charts too.”
