Monza - Race Preview
The Italian season finale is on. Prema’s Marcus Armstrong will line-up as the championship leader in the closing round of the 2017 Italian Formula 4 Championship at Monza. The 17-year-old New Zealander, part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, experienced so far an exciting season that handed him four wins, five pole positions and, even more importantly, a total of 12 podium finishes to underline his consistency.
With the triple podium scored in Mugello, Armstrong has now a healthy 53-point advantage over his closest contender. At the Italian Cathedral of Speed, the world-famous 5.8 course where Prema has scored so many wins in the past, he secured P1 in the collective test held earlier this week. Lining-up alongside him will be fellow FDA driver Enzo Fittipaldi. The young Brazilian is eager to sign off the season on a high note to increase his two rookie wins.
Grazia Troncon - Team Manager
“We are ready to fight in this weekend’s round at Monza and we hope to see Marcus finally clinch what would be a deserved title given his outstanding performance throughout the season. After finishing second in the German championship behind his team-mate, this is the right chance for him on a track where both he and our cars showed so much potential since testing. On the other hand, we expect Enzo to fight for the rookie wins and complete his first full-time season in style.”
