Mugello - Race Preview
The countdown is on at Mugello. The Prema team will line-up at the Tuscan venue leading both the driver and team championships as the 2017 Italian F4 Championship has reached his final stint with only two rounds remaining. The Italian squad can rely on 17-year-old Kiwi Marcus Armstrong, who has put up an impressive display in the previous round held at Mugello in mid-July and has a 17-point advantage over his closest contender in standings, in addition to 3 wins and 9 podium finishes to his name.
Marcus will be partnered as usual by fellow Ferrari Driver Academy man Enzo Fittipaldi. The 16-year-old rookie, grandson of F1 legend Emerson Fittipaldi, is hoping to fight for the class honors and aims to score some solid points. The full-time Formula 4 pairing will be joined by a new addition, namely Lukas Dunner. A 15-year-old Austrian, Dunner is coming from the Spanish and northern European Formula 4 championships. For him, joining the competitive Italian series will represent a big jump. As well as his team-mates though, he had the chance to put down some mileage at Mugello in last week's test.
Grazia Troncon - Team Manager
"The penultimate round of the series at Mugello will be challenging as the series already raced there this season and everybody will be close to their full potential. Every detail will be crucial but I know that we have the car and drivers needed to make the difference. Marcus already showed his potential in last July's round, while Enzo was close to the top-5 overall and with just a little more luck he would have made it for sure. I'm also happy to welcome Lukas to the team. Debuting in such a quality series and on a tough track like Mugello will be a big jump for him but he showed pace in testing and we will provide him with our best support."
