Prema Theodore Racing claim lead in ADAC Formula 4 Teams’ & Drivers’ Championship
Round 1 of the 2017 ADAC Formula 4 season got underway to a perfect start at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben with Prema Theodore Racing securing a win, a third place and taking the lead in both the Teams’ and Drivers’ standings.
Estonian racer Juri Vips put in a magnificent display from third on the grid to win the first race of the season. He finished the weekend in further style with a podium finish in Race 2 and a top-five in Race 3 to take top spot in the Drivers’ standings.
America’s Juan Manuel Correa recovered well from qualifying to claim two top-five finishes in Races 1 & 2 and narrowly missed out on a podium finish in Race 3 with P4.
Ferrari Driver Academy member Marcus Armstrong did well to secure valuable points despite facing qualifying woes. The New Zealander took P9 and P6 in Races 1 & 2 before retiring in Race 3 after starting from the front row.
Round 2 of the ADAC Formula 4 Championship will be held at the Lausitzring on 19-21 May 2017.
Marcus Armstrong
“Ultimately it’s not the results we wanted. After we didn’t get qualifying right it made the weekend difficult. It’s a shame about Race 3 but it didn’t work out. I’m lucky we have back to back race weekends so I can get back to work.”
